What's new in October 2026

October was a busy month across Bhadala. In the United States, riders now add funds through a secure checkout page and have new pass programmes to choose from. In South Africa, organisations have a new home in the Bhadala Portal, and taxis can now carry Bhadala stickers for paying at the taxi.

South Africa

  • Organisations have a new Bhadala Portal, with its own sign-in screen. It replaces the separate operator, programme, association and agent dashboards.
  • Vehicles can now carry a Bhadala sticker, so riders can pay at the taxi, and each boarding is recorded.

United States

  • Add funds now opens a secure Stripe checkout page in your browser, so you no longer enter card details in the app. Top-ups are between $10 and $200, and Add funds is now offered to every rider.
  • Please update the Atlas app. Older versions that ask for card details can no longer add funds, and integrations that send card details to add funds are now refused with a request to update.
  • New passes: with Ride Free for Three, a new hire nominated by their employer and approved by DDOT gets three free 31-day passes. Ride to Rise and SMART student weekly passes are also available, with a reminder when it is time to renew.
  • Organisations have a new Usage page showing every ride accepted and every scan refused. Each campaign also has a redesigned page with money and uptake figures and a list of the passes bought with it.
  • Fixes: a multi-ride pass no longer locks your ticket screen after its first accepted scan; rides a driver scans offline are no longer lost when the phone syncs later, even if the pass has expired since; and the reduced-fare application no longer stops at step 2.
  • On the web, you can now reset a forgotten password by email or by phone, and your dashboard greets you by name. News emails now tell you how to stop receiving them.
  • Updated rider and driver guides cover joining a benefit with a code, how to show your pass on your route and scanning with Driver mode. A new equipment page lists each way a pass can be checked.
  • Our terms now set a minimum age of 13, and riders under 18 need a parent's or guardian's permission.

Platform

  • A new Security page on bhadala.com shows our security status, the subprocessors we use and our public security documents. You can reach it from the footer, the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service.
  • The new Compliance Center lets approved customers and partners sign in and download our compliance documents.
  • This What's new page is also new. Each month it covers what changed across Bhadala's products, and you can follow it through an Atom feed.
